Singer-Songwriter and Musician. Sixto Rodriguez, commonly recognized as Rodriguez, rose to prominence during the late 1960s and early 1970s with his signature song “Sugar Man” and his folk and rock albums, “Cold Fact” and “Coming from Reality.” Despite being relatively unknown in the United States, his music garnered a substantial following in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. His story was the centerpiece of the 2012 Academy Award-winning documentary “Searching for Sugar Man.” This film intricately chronicled his mysterious disappearance from the music industry and subsequent reemergence. Following the documentary’s release, Rodriguez experienced a notable increase in media attention and fan engagement. Furthermore, his albums were re-released and achieved prominent placements on charts in multiple countries. In addition, he made notable appearances on diverse television shows and toured across numerous countries and music festivals.
