He is an American of Mexican descent…and is very proud to have been born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. His parents came from Mexico in the 1920’s. Thanks Pedro, I am also of Mexican descent…my ancestors came from Mexico in the late 1890’s almost 120 years ago…my parents were both born in California, and so was I, as well as my son and my two grandchildren. So we also are extremely proud of Rodriguez!
..
Nice article, interesting….but with all due respect Rodriguez has declared in many interviews that his parents BOTH came from Mexico in the 1920s. According to Rodriguez, his parents were from Santa Rosa del Rio in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico..He says that he comes from a MEXICAN indigenous family. His daughter Eva said, in Searching for Sugarman, that she and her sister Sandra are Mexican from their father’s side and part Anglo and part Native American from their mother’s side. So his two eldest daughters are the ones that are of mixed heritage. I think it’s important to have accurate information, especially about ones heritage,
…and that’s a cold hard fact lolz – thx for the lesson CM;)
