I’m amazed that, even though, Rodriguez has performed in the US at different times, most of us, ( I’m guessing.) never heard his music ( I do think, I heard “Sugarman” as a part of a trailer, that I didn’t see the movie of.) My guess is that religious driven forces intimidated DJs and music reviewers. There is nothing in his lyrics, that doesn’t need to be said, or in the case of “I Wonder” people aren’t thinking. Of course, I believe some religions have too much influence. The US is supposed to have freedom of and from religion. It would be one thing if these same influences would come down hard on illegal wars and other acts of suppression, but they don’t do that. But, thank you, Malik Bendjelloul!!
