In the late 60s and early 70s, Sixto Rodriguez released two easy Detroit City albums ‘Cold Fact’ and ‘Coming From Reality’ (both recently re-issued by Light in the Attic). Although both albums failed to sell in their original incarnation, the political voice of Rodriguez has been resurrected several times over in South Africa, Australia and the USA. His work is being rediscovered by bands like Animal Collective, Nas and Paulo Nutini. Rodriguez discusses his music, life and times and why the people of Detroit will never give up.
