Hi James. My dad is Rohan Thomas the bass guitarist. He is still mates with Joe the drummer
Married to bass guitarist of mad munks (Rohan Thomas). He still does gigs around Jhb. Drummer was Joe Mustapha (jams from time to time). Eddie Leisher (key boards) passed away. Cas (singer) back in SA. Married. Not performing anymore. Come and listen to Rohan first saturday night of each month playing with group TAKE 4 at Tonino’s Dunnotar st. Sydenham. Reperoire 60’4 /70’s rock
Howdie Faith. Like your new business card !
Eddie Leicher did indeed play. He used a Hamond organ model M which was a heavy piece of equipment to cart around, but well worth the effort because of the sound it produced.Joe Mustapha and myself still remember Eddie with much fondness and remember the great times we had as musicians in the Mad Monks band. I am still active as the bass player in my band called Take Four and we do a monthly gig at Tonino’s pub in Sydenham as well as doing gigs around Joburg
ROHAN,
IM GLAD YOU SETTLED THIS ISSUE ABOUT EDDIE.I WILL DEFINATELY TRY TO COME AND SEE YOU WHEN IM IN SOUTH AFRICA IN JUNE.I LIVE HERE IN THE USA AND IN THE 90’S HAD A RECORD COMPANY DISTRIBUTING OVERSEAS LABELS.WE TRIED TO SELL SOME SOUTH AFRICAN ARTISTS THAT WERE AVAILABLE ON CD AT THAT TIME. RABBIT WAS OUR BIGGEST SOUTH AFRICAN SELLER FOLLOWED BY THE FLAMES.THIS WAS DUE TO THE FACT THAT TREVOR RABIN , PLAYED WITH YES, DUNCAN, WITH THE BAY CITY ROLLERS AND THE FLAMES PLAYED WITH THE BEACH BOYS.IF YOU STILL HAVE SOME OF YOUR MAD MUNKS 45’S WHY DONT YOU PUT THEM ON U TUBE SO WE CAN ALL ENJOY YOUR MUSIC AGAIN.
Pete,
Thanks for your response, much appreciated, will have a look to see if I can locate those 45’s and will get back to you. Cheers!
